Would it not be better if instead of sending dolls we send food?

Thanks for visiting the site and commenting, you ask a great question. REDEEM HAITI is providing a wide response in 3 phases, http://www.redeemhaiti.org/the-prospectus/. Part of that response has included directly providing emergency food and supplies, but also enrolling every orphanage in the World Food Program’s weekly food distributions. We are maintaining communications with the orphanages we have relationships with and if there are other emergency needs that arise we respond. So yes, food is being sent and will continue to be sent.
Project Judy is helping supply a real need for orphans who are not only struggling with the daily reality of being abandoned, but in many cases their families inside the orphanages have perished along with every toy they ever loved. A doll is simply a companion to help them during this tremendously difficult time, and it is a simple and tangible way for us and our children to let them know we care.
